Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations for that rental. In the event of a discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle in Wigan, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary by vehicle type. A valid full driving license for the relevant category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current address must also be presented, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may apply as detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Wigan office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Wigan, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the vehicle's state. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges may apply depending on the severity. 7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- Prohibited uses of the vehicle include any illegal activities and participation in racing, rallying, or off-road driving. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, using the vehicle for purposes it is not intended for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving outside designated geographical areas without proper authorization are all violations of the terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wigan will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be capped at the amount paid for the rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of the English and Welsh courts.
